How often is a person supposed to get new glasses?

Most people I know get them every time their eyesight's power changes. Or every visit to the optometrist in extreme cases.

Get checked...well, about every 1 1/2 years, or when you see a change in vision.


Depends on your age as well, though.

I get checked every year or two now that I'm an adult (depending on if I've had a problem with my vision.) I get new glasses when my prescription changes or when my glasses get too beat up to use, whichever comes first (it's usually the prescription.)
