So* about two weeks ago I started getting a really bad sore throat, to the point where it hurt to swallow. I'm a senior in high school and this is an incredibly busy time so I figured i couldn't make time for a doctor's visit and just stated myself on some anti-biotics (amoxicilin). I started feeling better but within a week I broke out in a full bodied rash that itched like crazy, and the sore throat came back with a vengence featuring white spots at the back of my throat. I went to the hospital and they said I had mono-nucleosis and the the anti-biotics had reacted with the mono to produce the rash. I'm now on vicodin and prednisone, I can barely get out of bed, it's the end of my senior year and I can't do anything. The lesson, always go see your doctor first.
