Foxxy Loxxy's thread about a child's book reminded me of this stupendous book. I was wondering if any hatrackers have read it and discovered its' many many secrets.

I read it when I was way too young to figure any of it out. I'd kind of like to revisit it now, although I'm not sure of its whereabouts.

I bought it for one of my daughters about 10-12 years ago. We read it and loved it. I'm pretty sure we solved all of the mysteries but I cannot remember specifically the name of the swan. I can't check because my daughter in Utah has the book. We also loved Animalia. I've bought that one for several children over the years. It's for younger children than The Eleventh Hour.

I loved that book in middle school. Some of the mysteries were really challenging if I remember it correctly. I will have to look for it when I go to the bookstore next.

Funny...I had the same thought when I saw that other thread. I own both Animalia and Eleventh Hour - got them both as an adult - who says they're kids books?
I don't know which of them I've spent more time reading, but they're both wonderful.

We actually spent a while on this book when I was in fourth grade. Even with a group of people (3 or 4, I think), some of those puzzles were still really blasted hard.

I loveddddddd that book! I tried to solve it all with my sister when we were about 7 and 12 respectively. Took many rereads but I finally got it all on my own a year later. Looking back, I'm amazed I was able to find the clues as a young child. Now I need to go find it...

Mmhmm. I remember just picking up the book and reading the story without any sort of inkling that there were codes all about the pages. Then I got to the end of the book and man that's when I started to see the tip of the iceberg! I think finding the mice was relatively speaking one of the easier tasks.
