While reading a 2nd rate Arthurian novel and listening to NPR it struck me what a great source for Blues music are the various stories of King Arthur and the nights of the round table.
My challenge to you--write down the name of a character, a blues song title, and perhaps a line or two of the song, that would be appropriate.
And you have to imagine them sung by any classic blue's singer you wish.
Examples:
Arthur, "I didn't know...she was my sister."
Igraine (Arthur's mother) "I thought he was my man, but he's better."
Lyrics--"What's a girl to do, what's a girl to do, what's a girl to dooooo. When he came to me, in the night, I thought he was my man was my man? was my man. But he's better."
Elaine (Galahad's mother, Lancelot's wife) "My daddy done treed me a man, and I lost him." Lyrics: "He hasn't loved me Since he came out of that tree I gave him a son but now I am done I lost him."
