As if to make up for last week's breaking and entering, I'm having an amazing week. My Sherlock Holmes story, The Shocking Affair of the Dutch Steamship Friesland is being published in the fall issue of The First Line. Thank you to everyone who researched poisons and critiqued my story. I am, to put it mildly, happy.

I do still hope you'll expand the story at some point in the future, though. Or write another Holmsian tale!! If you do, count me in to crit it for ya!!

My dear Mrs. Kowal and most esteemed colleague,
I cannot express the joy which your announcement brings. I regret having been away for the weekend, and thus was unable to respond in a more timely fashion. I hope that your sojourn to Iceland does not preclude your accessing this board; however, should such prove the case, this note shall be awaiting your perusal five months hence.

Iceland, First Line, wow! What goes around comes around, Mary, you contribute a lot to Hatrack and you deserve all of this. Congratulations

No, but I know someone with eleven! And she's nearly 70, so apparently it is possible to survive a family that large. Whoda thunk?
I was misunderstood. I was really only trying to emphasize how happy I am for Mary by multiplying my congratulations by a meaningful number.
But, three kids, one mom, one dad--yeah, I suppose that makes congrats X 10! Count in the dog--Congrats X 14! Hermit crabs? I'm not sure how many legs they have--six each, I think--Congrats X 32! A fish--two fins = Congrats X 34! I'm one heck of an animal trainer, eh?

Well, I'm here and incredibally jet-lagged, quite loggy with exhaustion but everyone is being very nice, so that's alright.
