After much pondering and discussion I have decided to drop the rape scene. There are other scenes where the Antag is established as a bad guy. It wasnt worth the argument and the revisions. There is a scene where the protag witnesses something and I feel it is enough to motivate my protag to where he is morality wise as an adult. That said; I need to rework the chapter but feel it is the wisest thing at the moment.
Thank you all for your insite, it was interesting. I certaibnly took all of the opinions into consideration as I made the decision.
