Hello everyone, I'm a longtime Card fan. I actually stumbled on his work in highschool when I read his book on writing science fiction and fantasy. I liked it so much I returned to the school library the next day to check out "Ender's Game." I've been a fan ever since. As far as writing goes, I write a little science fiction but mainly I enjoy writing fantasy and light horror. I have a degree in Religious Studies so I feel most at home in those two genres. I've finished one novel although I shudder to think how terrible it is. Someday I'll revisit it and get it cleaned up. mainly it showed me how far I need to go to get my writing skills where I would like them to be. Currently I'm working on two novels, one is a horror novel for teens set in modern times, the other is a fantasy novel for teens.
In my spare time I grow grapes and make wine, (Surprisingly Colorado is second in the nation for growing wine grapes, who knew?) I also teach martial arts, speak several languages. Most of all I love to spend time with my wife, daughter, cats and dogs.

This here is a right nice place to learn the craft of writing, so you won't shudder at what you think of your writing.
Sounds like you right up there with being a serious writer... you have cats. Actually, your life experiences will help to inspire you.
If you see the unicorn go up and kiss her on the nose. Just watch out for her horn though but if your quick enough you can give her smack. On the nose though not the lips... you never know what she might turn into. She might like some wine also.

I envy you your cats, they can truly be inspirational! I loved OSC's "how too" books as well,( I actually have one checked out right now) and they helped me quite a bit.
I'll have to pass on the wine (non-alcoholic you know), but I do love grapes.

Oh yes! Please don't be afraid to stop by and visit me in the music room, though I couldn't quite tell you where it is (it tends to wander). Anyway, I rarely leave it, the piano's too good a friend.
