I've been writing SF for some time & going to physical writing groups where few understand SF. I'm looking to become more part of a SF writing community and this looks quite promising.
I am a bit befuddled navigating here as to where to view other writer's work to comment on and where to post my 13 lines and see any comments.
Welcome, Lance. Yes, I know the feeling. Sci-fi is not shunned here and you are welcome to post a part of your work into 'Fragments and Feedback' section. That's where most stuff for reading is as well.
Welcome to Hatrack.

G'day Lance. Welcome and come write in, the water's fine. While not a Sci-Fi writer myself, although I may dip a toe in one day, I have read far too much of it. From Verne through E.E. 'Doc' Smith, on past Heinlein and Asimov and into Pournelle with a few diversions into Huxley and Orwell, and then I suddenly stopped reading. Reason? No idea, the stories just stopped 'grabbing' me.
I mention all that waffle simply to say, if you have a work in progress or a finished draft, post your first 13 and ask for volunteers to critique the whole work. If your first 13 are 'worthy' enough, you might get a lot of replies. Or not.

Hi Lance. I'm new too. I've already found the site to be useful. You should read the critiques in the Fragments and Feedback for Short Works forum that already exist. You'll get an idea of what people provide as far as critiques as well as see what people might expect from a critique.

Howdy, sorry this is late...I've gotten into a bad habit of taking awhile to welcome most newcomers.
But full welcomes anyway.
Looks like you have the answers to your comments so I will just say as you probably know this is right nice friendly place. And some here know a thing or three about writing they don't mind sharing.
However as you do more exploring of the treehouse do be careful. There's this unicorn and she can be rather snarky and down right mean at times.
