Hey, I'm not sure if anyone's already posted this up here. I'm sure I'm not the first one to think of these, as I think these are rather obvious.
I think the two possible cures may be...
a) Ela or someone designing a virus (like how they designed a virus for Path and then for the desecolare (i can't spell it, haha)) for Bean without taking away his intelligence.
b) Jane taking Bean "outside" and then back "in" and giving him the same body, etc. only without the excessive growing, etc.
And for his kids, too.

That makes absolutely zero sense, since Bean lives 3000 years before Jane invents the outside method.

Ok, there are a few spoilers here... you are forewarned!!
well the 3,000 years isn't imposible. The new messanger ships can get up to speed and back down in two weeks (50 earth years) so... that would mean 3000 years = 60 weeks relative speed travel which is just over a year, which in non gravity Bean could easily do since it's gravity that posses the greatest risk to his heart faliure. So... theoretically Bean could certainly meat Jane. It would certainly be a very cool way to pull the two series together and end it all. But it would definatley go against Card's tendancy to kill all major characters, unless, of course, he went with the "and bean lived a full life wtaching his children grow until the day he died" generic kind of ending.

I wonder -- if they fixed Bean like they fixed the folk on Path, how much would it affect his intelligence?

I'm excited for the next book. I wonder what will become of Achilles II.
And what if they don't have their intelligence anymore? It seems like Bean felt that would pretty much be worth it. Then he can marry Quara.

But how much of his intelligence would he lose? He alread has this extremely large brain. Maybe he wouldn't be able to pick up new languages as easily, but wouldn't he still be smarter than the smartest person on earth?

You can't be smarter than the smartest person on Earth b/c then you're the smartest person on Earth. Unless of course Bean isn't on Earth, which he wouldn't be so nvm.
