While I'd floated around on the old forum for over a year before registering this name on the "new" UBB, the 28th is the 4th Anniversary of Troubadour on Hatrack River.
Thanks for making want to stay around so long - especially you old-timers. Appreciation goes out to everyone - you're all great. Special mention to:
(in no particular order) ClaudiaTherese TomDavidson AKA Olivet Belle Slash Porcelain Girl Bob_Scopatz Ethics Gradient
And any number of others who I'm just way too rushed to mention - sorry! But thanks go out to everyone.
I've been here 3 years and 2 months I guess. My hatrack registration day happens to be my 18th bithday. Strange how that happened. I guess I can say I have always posted here as an adult, at least legally, and that I've been registered here my entire adult life.
EG - well I don't have to deal with revues or the bevy of insane women that seemed to regard me as their personal property, so I've got a lot more time on my hands!

Thanks Black Fox - the feeling is mutual. Your posts have shown you to be a man of remarkable insight and intelligence that I've totally enjoyed reading.
EG - oh yeah. Like you wouldn't believe - and it wasn't a good thing either... *L*

Ah that's right! Damn she was excellent! Musician, drank beer, loved Grand Theft Auto III on PS2 and cute to boot. She was such a babe, and definitely not in the psycho-chick posse... *L*

Besides Martha - I have hair now (there's a new pic in the Hatrack Album), maybe I just don't got it anymore?

Congrats! I have this crazy idea about having my thousandth post thread on the same day as my one year Hatrack anniversary, but I don't think I'll be able to post enough by then...

If I ever make it to 1000 posts it'll be a bloody miracle. I put it to the entire of Hatrack that I am the slackest poster on the boards. 4 years and only 318 posts.

But you've been picking up the pace, lately. Soon you'll have to quit bragging about what a lurker you are.

Yeah, I know... surprises the hell out me too... But if you include the old forum, I've been here since July '97 - so almost five and a half years! I'm celebrating this mark as it's also the first place I used this handle, and it's been with me ever since...
Good lord, how things have changed...
July 97. I'd just been sacked (sorry, "made redundant") only a month after getting $20,000 loan to buy music gear. It was all electronic, so selling it off straight away wasn't an option - I'd be lucky to have got $10K back, still been in debt, still had the same payment schedule, but had no gear. So I stuck with it. I'd also paid for four months of internet connection up front. So at that time in my life, I was discovering the internet for the first time in my life while living in the scungiest of basements in an apartment block. My front door was at the back of the building under the fire-escape. I was on the dole and frantically trying to make enough money on the sly to even survive - my loan and rent was $440 a fortnight - my dole was $380 a fortnight. I spent a year of dodging summonses for non-payment of loans, credit cards, internet bills, phone.. you name it. Very low times...
I'm glad I'm not in that place anymore either - but there was something amazing and raw about those times... I experienced the biggest burst of creativity I've ever had before or since.
Oh I wouldn't say I've remained neutral but after being here this long you know to avoid certain thread topics when the crop up!
Threads I endeavour not to read, let alone post on:
Homosexuality Abortion Creation vs Evolution God does/doesn't exist
Hoo boy, the arguments we used to get into in the old days over those tired old horses. Glad not to partake in them anymore...
While it may falsely appear that EG gets all my Aussie-oriented love, you and I will always have the FrankenChicken holding us together. And that's solid, baby.

Where has the Troubador been lately, anyway? I still have some of songs on my computer and I don't remember if I'd told him that I enjoyed them.
