The Williams Street shows are certainly on a downward spiral. 12 oz. Mouse and Perfect Hair Forever are so awful. Painfully unfunny. "Mouse" seems aimed at the stoner crowd...how else to explain the total lack of anything even vaguely coherent?

"Perfect Hair" claims to be a spot-on parody of anime...and does so by having a floating hot dog with a visible butt and lots of characters with big eyes. Yup. My sides, they do split.

Bleah.

Agreed on 12 oz. Mouse, but I actually got into Perfect Hair Forever during the recent marathon. I'm not a big fan of the surreal in general, but one could do worse. (e.g.: Stroker and Hoop, Squidbillies, Sealab 2021, and Space Ghost Coast to Coast. [Words cannot express my loathing of Space Ghost.])

That said, The Boondocks makes up for all else. Aaron McGruder is one of my heroes.

I decided to watch this behind the scenes thing on 12 oz. Mouse to see if it helped me figure out what these people are thinking.

As far as I can tell, everyone is stoned, and I am in danger of losing brain cells by watching.

Adult Swim is the programming block for grownups on Cartoon Network. Runs every night except Fridays. Starts at 10 PM on Sundays, 11 PM the other nights.

Those times are EST : it's earlier in other US timezones.
On Fridays, Adult Swim videostreams online.

Ooh! According to the commercial that just aired, they're going to start running Home Movies again!

All is forgiven.

Maybe so but they are taking off Ghost in the Shell and Full Metal. Not that I mind really I have seen all the episodes but I was watching them again.

Besides I was never a fan of Home Movies or Fooly Cooly which is was they are adding as well.

I have no interest in anime, despite many people trying to show me how great it is.

More comedy! I watch Adult Swim to be amused!

I caught some of Stroker and Hoop one night while channel surfing, and that's some pretty bad stuff. Not only is it crass and disgusting, it's not even funny. (Like, you know, South Park.) I didn't see one joke that was amusing at all, and it was just... crass and disgusting.

I think S & H is pretty funny, but it doesn't suprise me that many people on this forum don't like it or other adult swim shows.

I find many other AS shows very funny. And I do love South Park ( [Blushing] .) S&H just misses the mark for me.

I don't dislike shows because they're Adult Swim, period.

I love Home Movies, and like quite a few of the anime they rotate.

I used to like Sealab 2021, before Captain Murphy's voice actor died and the jokes lost a lot of their vigour.

I liked Harvey Birdman when it parodied old Hanna Barbera shows...then it made the transition a year or so ago into just another one of the Williams Street "stoner" shows.

Aqua Teen can do no wrong for me. I love it.

Stroker and Hoop can be funny. It's not one of my favorites, but it's not absolutely terrible. Tom Goes to the Mayor was an acquired taste. So was Sealab.

I download the anime subbed by people with too much free time on their hands. I have almost all of Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, I have all of Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny, Advent Children (FF7), and 1-75 of Ruruuni Kenshin.

Advent I'll buy eventually to get the extra dvd stuff and play it on my dvd player.

I did get a chuckle out of Robot Chicken, but I really don't like Adult Swim in general.

Even animes I don't like because of the horrific anime dubs with good ol' Steven Jay Blum as "evilguy1/2/3/4/5/6/7, moodyguy1/2/3/4/5".

The only good english dub I've enjoyed is to Fruits Basket, and apparently those were mainly Dragonball Z voice actors... [Eek!] Whatever works I suppose...
