Hey Browncoats! The documentary "Done the Impossible," a year in the making, has been released.
quote:The story chronicles the rise, fall, and rebirth of the cult TV show "Firefly" as told from the perspective of the fans who helped save it. In this documentary, fans of the movie and TV series explain what inspired them to become passionate about Firefly, to help save Firefly, attend shindigs, participate in message boards, donate to charities, and become Serenity extras. They talk about the many ways that Firefly has affected their lives. Cast and crew also share humorous and insightful experiences with the fans.
This DVD is packed with extras, literally hours of footage, interviews, guerilla marketing, artwork, photo galleries, a trivia game, and more. And the main bit, an 80-minute documentary on the Browncoat phenomenon.
Beautifully done, and Hatrackers will be happy to know that some guy named Card is in there as well, talking about his first exposure and initial reluctance before embracing the finest science fiction television show ever made.
The DVD is on sale at www.donetheimpossible.com, and you can download the 80-min documentary as a free (and legal) torrent here.

Is the second season airing somewhere I don't know about?

Says what inspired them to help. Doesn't say they succeeded... Although I got impression they meant the movie.
That said, there is a new season of Firefly, sort of. Since Joss has said the events of the movie were originally supposed to happen, more or less, over the second season, a group of fanficcers ran with it and they're writing a 22 episode season that does just that. After writing 7 episodes to finish out season one, of course. You can check out the scripts at www.stillflying.net.

It started shipping last week, but the orders are going out in order of when you preordered and the people involved are at ComicCon this weekend. They haven't updated their site because of that, but it's available now.

1. "Done the Impossible (Ballad of Serenity)" by Rob Kuhlman, Mike Garner and Heather Ryan. It should be available on the soundtrack, which will be on sale very soon.
The music is really nice. Both the "Done the Impossible" ballad and the woman who closes the credits do a stand up job of portraying the tension and stuggle in the show. She has a lovely voice.

The last song is "Mal's Song" by Michelle Dockrey of Escape Key, and it's wonderful. You can download it and more of her work here.
