Do you think the artists are paying homage to the robot from "Short Circuit?" The head is quite similar.

From what I recall, Andrew Stanton said WALL-E's design was partially inspired by one of the robots seen on the Jawa barge in the original Star Wars.

I love Pixar movies and I like robots, so this seems like a good match for me. I'm interested in seeing more of the plot of the movie, but the little snippets are at least cute and sort of funny. It's on my list of must see movies for next year.

I wouldn't think Pixar would use the self-euthanize concept. But they had a bastard in Ratatouille, so I guess anything's possible.

Well, Ratatouille did feature an illegitimate child, but made it obvious that one parent had kept the other parent in the dark about the existence of their offspring.
BlackBlade, from what I know of WALL-E's plot, you won't have to worry about seeing that.
