Why is my name W? You all have some good ideas that make me laugh, so post them here.

Your name is W because...

...you adore the current president.
...you're a wanker.
...Wilhelmphenshtunkeldorfengruber is hard to pronounce and even harder to spell.
...if someone said your full name the curse would be broken and if you spelled it out for them that would be just too easy wouldn't it?
...it's easier to become a superstar if your name is totally different from everyone else's
...your parents weren't very creative and had a hard enough time coming up with just a letter let alone a full name.
...it was the letter of the day on Sesame Street the day you were born.
...because it feeds your ego to have everyone discussing your name. [Wink]

Hah and they think Proteus isn't my real name - damn that grouch and big bird for introducing kids -and my parents - to classical and mythological figures...

A - is for Ares
D - is for Dionysius
H - is for Hercules!

Yes, you are correct, it does give me an ego boost, but hey? What are you gonna do? I have to have something to pass the time with and that seemed a good enough way.

Your mother's father was named William and your father's father was named Wayne and both expected you to be named for them and there was no way to avoid offending someone except to name you W for both of them.

Duh.

Because you have amnesia and can't remember your real name, though your mom was kind enough to sew your initials into your underwear so you know your name at least begins with W.

Your parents had no imagination and couldn't get past W.

Let that be a less to all mothers. Don't just sew in the initials in the underware. From now on, sew the full name, lest amniesa(sp?) set in.
