What does everyone think of it? I looked at it at Borders last night, but ending up by the Worthing Saga instead (which I'm loving!!!) Enchantment just sounded like a big romance novel...but maybe it was the description on the back. So, should I buy it?

I'm more of a sci-fi sucker than a fantasy fan, but I did indeed find Enchantment to be one of the fantasy/romance novels I've read. The differences between Ivan and Katerina make the romance side of it interesting and quite humourous.
The summaries that are found about Enchantment (especially the one on the book) aren't very descriptive on what the book is all about. I too didn't find the book all that interesting from first glance, but out of the Orson Scott Card novels I had to choose to buy that day, I bought it for the very stupid reason that my name just happens to be Ivan.
After reading it, however, I did not regret buying it, and the story was so good that I often forgot that the main character and I share the same name.

If you take a look at this thread in which I asked "Which OSC book have you read over an over again?", Enchantment was right up there with Ender's Game as one of the most beloved and well-read of OSC's novels.
Personally, I adore it. The people are real, the relationships are true, the villain is likeable, yet truly evil, and the plot is really great. Everyone should read it IMO.

I just finished it a week or two ago, and I absolutely loved it! It's like a fairy tale, but it also has roots in the real world so it doesn't get too outrageous. You should definitely get it.

This is one of my favorite OSC books. On one of the trips I took with my dad during his truck driver days, I picked this one up in some random state, Alabama I think, as a desperate attempt to numb the boredom. It is worth the read 100 times over. Enjoy it, it won't last long enough.
Edit because I can't type.

Ok, well just in case you were thinking about changing your mind, Enchantment is not one of OSC's best books, it is his best.

I liked Enchantment a lot. The only thing I didn't like about it was Ivan's fiancee (forget her name) -- she was a shallow feminist who was manipulative and promiscuous; way too much of a straw man (or, straw woman) character, it was the first time I'd ever noticed OSC seem to push his opinions at the expense of the story...
