Years ago, my mother had these nifty things I call "sheet suspenders". They were a strip of heavy duty elastic fabric with garter type fasteners on each end that you used to keep the corners of your fitted sheets down on your bed. The corners on our bed are constantly coming off in the night, which is rather annoying. Since we have a water bed and cats with back claws, we like not having the cats be able to come into direct contact with the plastic, not to mention the fact that having the sheet always popping off is just a pain.
Do these things have a name? What is it (assuming sheet garters probably isn't it)? Where can I buy them? Please someone help me!!

I don't know what they're called, either. And last time I tried looking for them, I had a devil of a time finding them. In the end I bought some that were made for an ironing board. They're not exactly the right size, but they do the trick.

I just buy sheets with elastic down the sides of the bed instead of along the top and bottom of the bed. Them suckers neva come off.

The ones I was thinking of are the "sheet straps" (2nd thing alath linked). I had no idea there actually was a product called "sheet suspenders". I thought I had made up that name. And regardless of what they say, I can't imagine the fun of trying to put sheet suspenders on a California King waterbed.... Looks like I'll be making a trip to Bed, Bath, and Beyond tomorrow!
Thank you!! *big hugs to all the nice Jatraqueros*
Glynn - With a weird sized bed, I'm just happy to find sheets at all, so I figure I can't be picky about finding ones with elastic down the sides too.
