My friend Annie has the peronsal theme song of Smooth Crminal because he does the whole " annie are you ok, are you ok annie" thing over and over again.
I would have to say that I would like to choose multiple so it can not be, I wanted like a remix of SWAT the Gladiator batle theme, and Princes of the Universe and Wild Thing, but It just doesnt work now does it. Anyone got an idea?
Anyone else have a theme song?

I love the way you don't acknowledge that "your friend Annie" is a Hatracker!
I'm not sure I have a personal theme song, but my absolute favorite song in the whole entire world could probably be considered my theme song. I just adore "Moon River."
I LOVE THAT SONG! I'm making a CD with just the different versions and productions of that one song. Annie, dearest, I'll give you a copy if you want!
♪ Moon river, Wider than a mile, I'm crossin' you in style some day... ♫

So anyway, what should I choose as mine? Do they make remixs of all those songs for money somewhere?

There's no place in this world where I'll belong when I'm gone And I won't know the right from the wrong when I'm gone And you won't find me singin' on this song when I'm gone So I guess I'll have to do it while I'm here
And I won't breathe the bracing air when I'm gone And I can't even worry 'bout my cares when I'm gone Won't be asked to do my share when I'm gone So I guess I'll have to do it while I'm here
And I won't be running from the rain when I'm gone And I can't even suffer from the pain when I'm gone Can't say who's to praise and who's to blame when I'm gone So I guess I'll have to do it while I'm here

I think I'd have trouble picking one. I was just thinking that with the addition of a comma, "More Holiness, Give Me" becomes "More, Holiness, Give Me." The first is a prayer to be more righteous, the second would be a song about blackmailing a Catholic church official.

Love me when I'm here I wont always be there So love me when im gone
I never let you down Even if I could I give up everything If only for your good So love me when Im near Love me when im far I wont always be there So love me when I'm goooooooooone..
That was another close contender.
C'est Moi seems like a obvious joice too. Gah so many choices.

I don't have the album, but that song by The Darkness is a hoot! I heard someone say after seeing them live, "If that's the way they really are it's pathetic, but if they're being satirical, they're genius."

The stylistic cinematography in the video fits the lead singer perfectly. If I could make a video like that I would die a happy person.

When he yells "Guitar!" and they go to that room with his brother and the five hundred amps, god, if I could play in a room like that, I would die a very hapy man.
It's most likely that the Ochs song came quite a bit before the one you remember. I doubt most people on this forum have heard of him or heard his music (except maybe the "Draft Dodger Rag - written for the Korean War).
It's incredible, given the lyrics, that Ochs ended up committing suicide.

As far as my personal theme song, it would have to be Nod Over Coffee by Mark Heard:
quote:All the unsaid words that I might be thinking And all the little signs that I might give you They would not be enough
No they would not be enough So we nod over coffee and say goodbye Smile over coffee and turn to go We know the drill and we do it well We love it, we hate it Ain't that life
Ain't that the curse of the second hand Ain't that the way of the hour and the day
If I weren't so alone and afraid They might pay me what I am worth But it would not be enough You deserve better
So we nod over coffee and say goodbye Do whatever has to be done again today Get in the traffic and time will fly Look at the sun and pray for rain
Ain't that the curse of the second hand Ain't that the way of the hour and the day
The dam of time cannot hold back The dust that will surely come of these bones And I'm sure I will not have loved enough Will not have loved enough
If we could see with wiser eyes What is good and what is sad and what is true Still it would not be enough Could never be enough
So we nod over coffee and say goodbye Bolt the door it's time to go Into the car with the radio on Roll down the window and blow the horn
Ain't that the curse of the second hand Ain't that the way of the hour and the day

Rhaegar The Fool: you may wish to use the world's greatest personal blockbuster themesong: Step to the Rear, Let a Winner Lead the Way.
quote:Step To The Rear
Will everyone here kindly step to the rear and let a winner lead the way! Here's where we separate the notes from the noise, the men from the boys, the rose from the poison ivy.
Back in the bunch, I came up with a hunch, this was your up and at 'em day. It's one of those spells, when you hear the right bells, and your horoscope tells you to say, "Will everyone here kindly step to the rear and let a winner lead the way!"
I hear those trumpets begin to blare, and now I'm Washington upon the Delaware.
Will everyone here kindly step to the rear and let a winner lead the way! Here's where we separate the duck from the quack, the ace from the pack, the pip from the macintoshes,
Back in the group, I came up with the scoop, this was a time to rise and say, "I got in my eye such a jubilant sky, that the Fourth of July will seem gray! Will everyone here kindly step to the rear and let a winner lead the way!"
As our investments begin to grow, to quote from Davey Crockett at the Alamo, "Will everyone here kindly step to the rear and let a winner lead the way!"
Here he comes and things are thumbs up! He shows the bums up, all down the way. Here he comes, a heck of a fella, a follow-his-smella. I say, Okay!
There he goes and boy it shows up. Up on your toes up! Just echo a strain. Just get in step behind a wreck. For Bill and Pat and cheer old fashioned guts and gumption, caviar and pasta for dinner - a winner will lead the way!

Not only do I have a personal theme song, but nobody else has it, it is completely personalized (and thusly actually completely personal). It even has it's own dance with it wanna learn? it goes like this:
tempo=140 Bounce, bounce, bounce :: bounce to the right :: Bounce, bounce, bounce :: bounce to the left :: Bounce, bounce, bounce :: bounce to the right :: Bounce, bounce, bounce :: bounce to the left ::
or...if I'm really bouncy do this in cut time at 200 Bounce, bounce :: bounce right :: Bounce, bounce :: bounce left :: Bounce, bounce :: bounce right :: Bounce, bounce :: bounce left ::
quote: Poisoning Pigeons in the Park by Tom Leherer
YES! I LOVE THIS SONG!! I'm going to post the lyrics for those of you who have been underprivileged, and never heard it before.
♪ Spring is here, a-suh-puh-ring is here! Life is skittles, and life is beer! I think the loveliest time of the year is the spring, I do, don't you? 'Course you do!
But there's one thing that makes spring complete for me, And makes every sunday a treat for me!
All the world seems in tune on a spring afternoon when we're poisoning pigeons in the park! Every sunday you'll see my sweetheart and me as we poison the pigeons in the park.
When they see us coming, the birdies all try and hide, But they still go for peanuts when coated with cyanide!
The sun's shining bright, everything seems alright, when we're poisoning pigeons in the park!
We've gained notoriety, And caused much anxiety, In the Audobon Society With our games, They call it impiety, And lack of propriety, And quite a variety Of unpleasant names!
But it's not against any religion To want to dispose of a pigeon!
So if sunday you're free, Why don't you come with me, And we'll poison the pigeons in the park. And maybe we'll do in a squirrel or two While we're poisoning pigeons in the park!
We'll murder them all amid laughter and merriment, Except for the few we take home to experiment! Our pulse will be quickenin' With each drop of strychnin' We feed to the pigeons, (It just takes a smidgeon!) To poison the pigeons in the park! ♫
quote:You know you can't hold me forever I didn't sign up with you I'm not a present for your friends to open This boy's too young to be singing the blues
So goodbye yellow brick road Where the dogs of society howl

"You're so vain. You probably think this song is about you."
Actually, I hate that song, but it highlights my lack of humility, sense of irony, and offensive additude. That's assuming any of that is true of me, and I'm too conceited to doubt myself.

Annie, you have MUCH more than a leitmotif. I don't even think we could assign you only ONE song! We'd have to pick a few.
I think "Feelin' Groovy" by Simon and Garfunkel should be my theme song. It isn't always, but it's my goal. Here's my favorite verse:

I love we like the moon and poisoning pigeons but my song is you were meant for me by jewel
hear the clock, it's six a.m. I feel so far from where I've been Got my eggs and my pancakes too Got my maple syrup, everything but you
Break the yolks, make a smiley face I kinda like it in my brand new place I wipe the spots off of the mirror Don't leave the keys in the door Never put wet towels on the floor anymore 'cause
CHORUS Dreams last so long Even after you're gone I know you love me And soon you will see You were meant for me And I was meant for you
Called my momma, she was out for a walk Consoled a cup of coffee but it didn't wanna talk Picked up a paper, it was more bad news More hearts being broken or people being used
Put on my coat in the pouring rain Saw a movie it just wasn't the same 'Cause it was happy and I was sad It made me miss you oh so bad
CHORUS
Go about my business, I'm doing fine Besides, what would I say if I had you on the line Same old story, not much to say Hearts are broken every day
Brush my teeth and put the cap back on I know you hate it when I leave the light on I pick a book up Turn the sheets down Take a deep breath and a good look around
Put on my pj's and hop into bed I'm half alive but I feel mostly dead I try and tell myself it'll be all right I just shouldn't think anymore tonight
As I walk through the valley where I harvest my grain I take look at my wife and realize she's very plain But that's just perfect for an Amish like me You know I shun fancy things like electricty At 4:30 in the morning I'm milking cows, Jebediah feeds the chickens and Jacob plows...fool! And I've been milkin' and plowin' so long that Even Ezekiel thinks that my mind is gone. I'm a man of the land I'm into discipline Got my Bible in my hand and a beard on my chin. But if I finish all my chores and you finish thine Then tonight we're gonna party like it's 1699.
CHORUS- We've been spending most our lives living in an Amish Paradise I've churned butter once or twice living in an Amish Paradise It's hard work and sarifice living in an Amish paradise We sell quilts at discount price living in an Amish Paradise
A local boy kicked me in the butt last week I just smiled at him and I turned the other cheek, I really don't care, in fact I wish him well 'cause I'll be laughing my head off when he's burning in Hell. But I ain't never punched a tourist even if he deserved it, An Amish with a 'tude you know that's unheard of. I never wear buttons but I got a cool hat And my homies agree I really look good in black...fool! If you come to visit you'll be bored to tears We haven't even paid the phone bill in 300 years. But we ain't really quaint so please don't point and stare, We're just technologically impared.
Hitchin' up the buggy, churnin' lots of butter, raise a barn on Monday, Soon I'll raise another. Think you're really righeous, think you're pure in heart Well I know I'm a million times as humble as thou art. I'm the pious guy the little Amlets wanna be like On my knees day and night scorin' points for the afterlife. I thought of one that I like to think represents me at least a little. (From the point of view of the person being sung about, not the singer.) I think the song is supposed to be from a man to his old lover, but I heard it when I was younger and felt like it was a really accurate representation of my relationship with my dad. Read the lyrics before you make jokes.
I've always wanted Radiohead's "Everything in Its Right Place" to accompany my posts. Like, whenever you read my name, the first 5 seconds of the song would start playing.
