Why does the Chinese astronaut's spacesuit look so much like an American spacesuit. Is there only one way to build a spacesuit, and Americans happened to come up with it first?

In the beginning of "The Truman Show" they say their (pretend) studio is, along with the great wall of China, one of two man made structures visible from space.

I just feel, grossly misinformed. Supposedly they've been teaching this in text books, yet I didn't know about it, until now. I geusse the cariculum(I don't know how to spell that) in my school was either, misinformed also. Or they knew the truth, and didn't want to fill our little brains with garbage.

My understanding has been that along with the great wall, you can see Utah's big strip mine.
Also, I've heard that before they were asked to turn down their spotlight, you could see the Luxor hotel in Vegas from space.

quote: From a low orbit of the earth, many artificial objects are visible on the earth, such as highways, ships in the sea, railroads, cities, fields of crops, and even some individual buildings. While at a low orbit, the Great Wall of China can be seen from space but it is not unique in that regard.
Furthermore, when leaving the earth's orbit and acquiring an altitude of more than a few thousand miles, no man-made objects are visible at all. NASA says, "The Great Wall can barely be seen from the Shuttle, so it would not be possible to see it from the Moon with the naked eye."
