Okay, here's some more info. It's a French form of martial arts developed by a guy named David Belle. It looks like these guys train in all sorts of Asian martial arts and gymnastics, and then run these urban stunt courses. I think it's meant to be about freedom and ignoring limitations, navigating unnavigatable terrain with apparent ease.
There's also a smaller group of extreme-sports types, also French, who show off at www.urban-climbing.com ...

Which specific thing near the middle were you all gasping at? Nothing specific stood out from the rest in my mind.
This stuff really reminded me of the stuff that Jackie Chan used to do, before he got old and started using special effects. He was raised on martial arts and gymnastics, just like RND said.

I am so moving to France. This is the kind of stuff I do all the time just for the heck of it! Albeit not from such death-defying heights, but none of it really looked that hard.
...the most wonderful thing about Tiggers....

Hey...this reminds me, does anyone know what that lightsaber-fighting video that was linked to at one point was called? It was really cool, and I wanted to watch it again...

porteiro, the "wait for the middle" thing was to ensure that people get through the "training" section at the beginning and actually watch the urban stunts.

The first time I just saw him back home with a cast on his wrist.
The second time I got to go with my mom to pick him up at the hospital after they took the rebar out of his arm.

A group of these guys were in a documentary here in the UK called Jump London. They jumped some of London's most famous landmarks including Somerset House, the Albert Hall, the National Theatre, the rooftops of Soho, Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Old County Hall, the Saatchi Gallery and HMS Belfast.
It was really cool and you certainly don't get the idea of the heights and distances they're jumping from the clip Dog linked. They are very brave and very crazy.
I tried to find a clip of Jump London but couldn't and the only pics I can find just don't do it justice.
