I like Will Smith, and as long as I think of this as "the Will Smith robot movie" I'm all right.
I categorically refuse to honor it with the "I, Robot" name since even the little scenes from the trailer flatly contradict the source material.

"The Will Smith Robot Movie" is basically what they called it in Jersey Girl, and Will Smith even said, AS Smith, "It's really not all that good."

I thought it looked pretty cool from the trailer. But I have not read the text and am totally unfamiliar with the source material so I have nothing to compare it to. Therefore I have no expectation to lament about if they are not fullfilled. And what's wrong with Will Smith? Is it just that he is horribly miscast for the part or is it that no one likes him at all? I will probably see this movie, but I don't know that it will be one that I rush right out to see.

It's Will Smith. Will Smith does not belong anywhere _near_ an Asimov movie. This makes me so very sad.

I'm sorry pH, but after seeing Will Smith face that giant robot spider in Wild Wild West, I think you're wrong. I can't think of anyone better for this role.

I think that Will Smith has the potential to be a serious actor. It just seems that hollywood can't help but give him silly one-liners that ruin the persona of the original character.
