Actually, I find Cohen heartening in times of trouble. I am missing my parents now, as this is the time of year when my father died half my life ago, and my mother's death was just last year.
And you who had the honor of her evening, And by the honor, had your own restored ...

To Hatrack!
I'm off to Milwaukee with David for a few days to tackle work stuff. I'll delve back into CMZ and see y'all when I get back.

I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold."

I am sorry, Sara. Music and poetry are such a good way to let your feelings go. I am glad you have a good, deep source of strength. Liz

I loved you in the morning, your kisses deep and warm Your hair upon the pillow, like a sleepy golden storm
Have a nice time in Milwaukee Sara. I find Leonard the best when I'm in a bitter-sweet reflective mood. Just the right music to sit, remember and contemplate to.

Dave and I are being put up at a high-end hotel in Milwaukee. Nice room, close to downtown, great service, a little gaudy in the over-the-top gildedness, but a pleasant place to stay.
Who do I think I see on our way down the steps to the breakfast cafe? Meg Ryan.
No way.
I stared (just in that disbelieving, I'm trying to convince myself it's not real way) as she walked past me, but I wouldn't dream of bothering the woman, regardless of whether she was a celebrity or not.
But over breakfast, we were like "Man, she's had to have had to field that question a million times, who ever she is." Heh, heh. She was alone, porting her own black suitcase, so we figured it was just a happenstance moment of similarity.
Back up at the room, I type in "Meg Ryan" and Milwaukee just to see if anything shows up, for a lark. It did.
quote:Meg Ryan will join Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in a two-city tour to discuss the Bush Administration's environmental record. Kennedy and Ryan will appear in Orlando, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 27th and 28th respectively.
Neat!

Thank you, imogen. That's one of my favorites, being a blonde myself. (And yes, when I learned Cohen was being spotted at his favorite Montreal steakhouse after I left the city, I mourned. Such a celebrity-spotting hog. )
Dagonee, it cuts to the quick, doesn't it?
Trevor, thank you. I will.
Elizabeth, absolutely. It just gets richer then.

Chaeron, that line always makes me laugh. My mother had no patience for anything other than classical and "Happy Birthday." The rest of music was drivel to her.
Tammy:
Lucky4, and the words follow the strain of the music exactly. Amazing.
