I just got a call saying that a big local research group might want to hire me to produce some 3D work for them... so I finally got around to cleaning up the code on my site... quick, does the scrolling work for everyone??? It shouldn't work at all in any browser more than 3 or 4 years old, but everything else should look okay.... *crosses fingers*

Yee!

*mutilates fingernails nervously*

Uh, interviewers don't look at your fingers, right? [Razz]

I'll just say the puppy did it. Which is more true than not. [Grumble]

Works fine in Firefox 1.0. If you click on a scroll button when it's all the way at the top or bottom, you get what looks like a 1 or 2 pixel bounce. Nothing to worry about, but an if scrollisattop and if scrollisatbottom statement might fix it easily.

I'm totally guessing how you implemented it - I didn't look at the code.

Like I said, no big deal anyway - it looks kind of cool.

Oh, and congratulations! The first client is always the hardest to find. Make sure you get rights to use some live animation from the work you do for them on your site for promotional purposes. [Smile]

Thanks, Dag! I got the code from dyn-web.com, which has some really cool dhtml implementations. I don't have time at the moment to learn anything about it beyond what I had to pick up to cram it into my design, so I'll leave the bounce as is. [Smile]

I have a successful freelancing friend who's offered to give me a copy of the 8-page contract he uses with clients. I'll definitely be covering my bases after my ridiculous experiences with the vet school.

Works fine in IE 6.0.29. No bounce there, either.

And I won't open IE for just anyone. [Wink]

Woo! I think this is only my second website ever that looks pretty much the same in both Safari and IE 6. Phew. [Smile]

Okay, I'm off to start stripping wallpaper... which should be a challenge with my fingers crossed and all!

I hope these guys aren't too surprised that the "president" (and sole employee) of this company is a 23 year old girl. I've really tried to distance myself from age and gender giveaways on the site, but they'll probably figure it out when they meet me. [Smile]
