Shamelessly self-indulgent, but hey it's my birthday! I'm allowed to be!
Tony is interstate but nonetheless I feel loved - my Mum and siblings rang at 6am my time (thanks guys), I had parcels waiting for me and two movies on the computer from Tony instructing me on where my present (a tinsy teeny jar of Iranian caviar - because I've always wanted to try some) was hidden.
It's gonna be a good day.

Of course, here your birthday is tomorrow. But it's already tomorrow there. Only you think tomorrow is today. *eyes cross*

That's so thoughtful and sweet.

I went shopping with my mother-in-law for shoes (as my birthday present) and we had a great time.
Then when I got home...
A little background first. I left organising my party a little late - as in last Sunday. It turns out there are about 6 gazillion other parties in Perth tonight, most of them centered around the law school. So most of my friends were busy - and then some cancelled mid-week.
I was left with two people coming, and I was quite upset. No-one seemed to care that much, and with Tony being away I felt a little abandoned.
Anyway, I got over it and organised a dinner party for the two who are coming - and managed to get one more person. So now it's four for home-made pizzas. Yum.
I got home from shopping to find on my doorstep the most enormous and bright bunch of flowers - with yellow tulips - and a bottle of Chandon champagne.
From my friends who can't come tonight.
<-- Very Happy Birthday Girl.

Well, I'm relieved. Since you said she's young, it means I'm young too. Always good to get a second opinion...
