*sigh*

I'm just not in the mood to exhaustively deconstruct this iconic tale that so captured my imagination as a child. I enjoyed it, and I just want to enjoy it a while longer before listening to any more whiney bubble-pricking.

I can now imagine how a junkie might feel when she realizes there won't ever be any more smack. It's all gone.

*drags her sorry self to the seedy paperback shelves of her local bookstore - the SW addict equivalent of a methadone clinic*

No, I can't do it. It's cold turkey for me, I guess.

*clutches Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell to ger chest and weeps pathetically*

So, lets talk about anything except Star Wars in this thread, okay?

Sounds good to me...I hear you're getting some pretty nasty weather down there today; we had it up here yesterday.

On the bright side, though, today is perfectly lovely.

Oh, btw, what did you think of the Fairy Godmother book (if you've had time to get to it, that is...)

Wet and rainy today. (Perfect movie weather, actually [Big Grin] ) John VanPelt is visiting this weekend to finish the ceiling prep on my diningroom. He should be starting the mural in a few weeks. I can't wait!!!!!

Yeah, it's nasty and gloomy here, and I'm out of sorts.

On the bright side, someone sent me a link to a new Ewan McGregor movie trailer:

http://mp3content01.bcst.yahoo.com/b02r01/002/yahoomovies/5/15345986.mov

A movie where they clone Ewans can't be all bad...

Edited for double letters - keyboard has been sticky lately.

Hahahaha...the ads at the bottom are about getting help for methadone addiction.

LOL! I hadn't noticed [ROFL]

Am entirely drug free, BTW. I am a lifelong NON substance-dependant person. Well, until my recent affection for Starbucks.

Reminds me of the dopey, semi-pick-up line in Velvet Goldmine. Something like, "Herion was my main man, but I'm on the Methadone now. Maybe you could be my main man."

I think I'm going to have to buy that movie...

I'm partway through it, and am enjoying it a lot. I'm reading three books right now, and half-arsed trying to write one.

And my boys insisted on watching The Empire Strikes Back, so I'm up here on the computer trying not to give in to my desire for an all-out Star Wars binge.

Books are good. Books are good. I would not leave my husband for Ewan McGregor, given the chance. Books are good. I love books...

Books ARE good!

Cheer up! If you're not getting the shakes, then you're doing ok! [Big Grin]

Think of the Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe trailer...good things will happen soon, even if they're not Star Wars things. [Big Grin]

I've never had Turkish Delight, but I remember always craving something sweet after watching the Wonderworks version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The kid who played Edmund was so good at being a bastard. Too bad Lucy looked like a 12-year-old female version of Freddy Mercury.

Synesthesia -

It's very sweet and is often flavoured by rose water.

It's got a very stiff gelatinous texture, and can get quite sticky.

It is also absolutely *delicious*.

You can buy it here at any decent european supermarket - I imagine if you find a greek or italian market they'll have it.

TMedina - He IS Scottish and delightful, but he's not nearly as sweet or sticky as the 'Turkish' treat. Probably better for one's teeth, though.

That's right. Don't talk about Star Wars, talk about the ways of the sith. Fuel your anger, feel it and enjoy it. Make it part of you. You have no idea the power of the dark side.

Fell off the wagon. Saw it again.

*sigh*

Then overheard some guy at a restaurant bragging about having been to Tailand on one of THOSE vacations. It made me sad that I actually CAN'T give people lifellong diarhea at will.

I'm going over to the Dark Side.

Here's what they could face:

quote:
The United States strengthened its ability to fight child sex tourism last year through passage of the "Trafficking Victim Protection Reauthorization Act" and the "PROTECT Act". Together these laws enhance awareness through the development and distribution of CST information and increase penalties to up to 30 years for engaging in child sex tourism.

In the first eight months of "Operation Predator" (a 2003 initiative to fight child exploitation, child pornography, and child sex tourism), U.S. law enforcement authorities arrested 25 Americans for child sex tourism offenses.

Overall, the global community is awakening to the horrific issue of child sex tourism and is starting to take important initial steps.

He didn't actually say, "I went to Thailand and had sex with children" but he DID say something along the lines of "I've been to Thailand." With much *wink-wink* *nudge-nudge*

If he hadn't left a kernal of doubt what he was talking about, exactly, I think I would have stabbed him with a fork right then. As it was, I didn't hear the whole conversation and may have been mistaken, so I'm glad I didn't.

But It totally ruined... basically, my mood since then has been rather unfocussed and angry.

The Dark Side beckons.

In other news, I spent some of my first paycheck on new work clothes and discovered that I clean up nice. I chose shoes that can double as dealy weapons, though. So I'm not going all soft.

I think it may be time for a new nick.

Totallyu breaking my own rule....

http://www.cinemall.com/?BISKIT=1045346379

I LOVE this theater. It is family-owned. The owner actually greets and speaks to the theaters about upcoming events and stuff. My sister and a group of friends went to see RotS in nice rented costumes and he gave them a special introduction at the begining of their showing.

The sound is PHENOMENAL. People travel from all over the country to see Star Wars movies there. They have been showing it on most of their screens on (an hourly basis) since it opened, and selling out. May have fallen off by now, but I want to go!

I'm sick again. Tonsillitis, most likely. Despite the fact that I had my tonsils removed when I was twelve. The surgeon left a tiny chunk of tonsils behind, and its that chunk that periodically gets infected, resulting in more tonsillitis. [Frown]
