Can somebody tell me the proper way to format Canadian postal addresses? This is what I've been doing, but I've been seeing so much inconsistency that I thought I'd better double-check:
University of Toronto Toronto, ON M5S 1A1 Canada
Do I have everything in the right order and on the right lines? Should there be a hyphen in the postal code?

I've always done it the way you did, Jon (except for the street (I just wrote 'three' instead of street, isn't that weird?) address).
If you do it that way, it'll get there. Granted, the second way Bob listed is the most common. I just like putting the country last, as sort of the final (or first) destination - but I don't actually know how the postal system really works, so.

I always make sure to write the name of the country very large underneath everything else and then ask the postman loudly for an 80 cent stamp. Just so everyone knows how cool I am for sending letters to foreign countries.
When I worked for the French Review, I had to send letters and manuscripts all over the world all of the time. It was right when they were changing the international rates, but some countries still cost more. So, just to be safe, I called the post office one day.
"Hi. I was just wondering how much it costs to send a regular letter to Jordan."
"Um.... 37 cents."
"Really? That's weird."
"Jordan, Montana?"
"Um, no. Jordan the country."

I have another question about Canadian addresses. I've seen several that look like this: "1510 - 700 W. Georgia St." What's up with that? If the first number is the street address, then what's the second? Or vice versa, I suppose.

It's a townhouse complex. I live in one like that. It's just a block of homes (addresses 1510 to 700) surrounded by a fence, and "1510 - 700" appears on the front gate.

I should've mentioned that this is a corporate address, not a residential one. I'm guessing it's probably not a townhouse.

It's a suite/apartment/townhouse number. Normally the suite number comes first and the street number comes second. So that would be Suite 1500 at 700 W. Georgia St. However since most apartment buildings, townhouse complexes, and office blocks have their own postal code in Canada, the postman can usually figure it out either way.
