I can’t get to any website with the URL www.purdue.edu and I have NO idea why. As it’s my school website, it’s also a fairly large problem. For example, I can get to the School of Liberal Arts website because the URL is www.cla.purdue.edu, however, I can’t get to the website for my program, the Undergraduate Studies Program, because the URL is www.purdue.edu/oop/usp/. This is the second computer I’ve had this trouble on, so the problem isn’t within the computer. Also, I have the same internet as all of my roommates and they can get to the site, so the problem isn’t there. The only thing I can think of is that I have a wireless network set up in my room that only I use, and that the problem is somehow connected with that.

Does anyone have the faintest clue what this is or how I can fix it? It’s becoming a serious problem.

I can get to the first and third links, but the second doesn't open for me. Strange.

Ah, I just checked and it should be a c instead of an s. I've been typing it in wrong for ages, apparently, and my computer just automatically redirects me.

No idea what could cause this problem. The second link is misspelled(there is a comma after the .edu), but as far as I can tell the links otherwise work.

Are the purdue sites the only ones you have problems with?

I googled the second link and clicked on the link from Google. Maybe you could try that?

ricree- yea, it's only Purdue, or at least, Purdue's the only site I've wanted to go to that I couldn't

Jaime- Nope, can't get to it from google, can't have someone give me a link, just plain can't get to it.

what does your system say when you try?

Are you running any Adware or Spybot that might have mistakenly locked it out?

It doesn't say anything. I try to go there and I just get a white screen.

I'm not running anything that would block it that I know of.

There is a chance that the person who previously had your IPaddress either mucked with the perdue.edu computers or trolled/etc so badly that what-is-now-your IPaddress was banned from access by the perdue.edu computer administrator.

Consider clearing your cache and your history, then delete all of your cookies. Then try again.

If that doesn't work, you might want to release and renew the IP address on your router/internet modem.

That's my first guess as well. Do you have DSL or cable? If you have DSL, you're probably running on a dynamic IP address. Try shutting off your DSL and redialing again, you might get assigned a new IP address.
