What about delicately spiced, baked mud? People eat it, apparently find it tasty, and all that, but it's really just dirt. To me, that seems foodlike, rather than actually being food.

If it's edible and tastes good, it's gotta be food.

What sort of spices? Are we talking sweet or savoury? I'd favour sweet, myself...

Savoury, I think, in answer to your question, Cashew. I could see either one being tasty though.

Savoury, huh? Can you make the mud into little shapes? That would add to the eating xperience, I feel.

MMM. I think I'm hungry too. I've eaten several truffles today (I have a small business making them, this is my busiest time of year, and I have to make sure the quality is good)but I could use something that's NOT sugar.

Truffles, cashews, mac & cheese: all food. Mud: not food. BBQ sauce: not food. Ketchup: debatable (awaits inevitable smiting from the ketchup of righteousness).

*obliges* *smites* I should point out that it's with CAPITALS. The Ketchup of Righteousness!

Agree with you on BBQ sauce, though.

Nor has he tried my grandmother's Cuban black beans and rice. Ketchupqueen, you seem very confident in your cooking [Wink] Does it involve smothering everything in ketchup?

If "tastes good" is a requirement, then everything pumpkin except pumpkin bread is definitely out for me. Also, all things squash and zucchini. Yuck.

I'm making a tomato-based bean and pasta soup for dinner, with garlic bread. Yay!
