Excuse me, Bradley. Are you offering pirated material, here? Because really, that's not very nice.

So in fact, you are stealing from Paradox, possibly the finest game company ever? You really cannot afford 15 dollars to support Johan in making new and excellent games? Ye gods, 1.05 patch for CK, EU3 just announced, and you go and steal from them? You disgust me.

So you decide to steal? Look, I could see stealing some bread if you were starving, but a computer game? Ick.

In every case though if I had the money I do buy the games. X3 a single player game, why buy it when I can download it? I bought it, 50$ I bought it because i had the money for it.

Ah, yes, but you seem only to have grasped one-half of this. Paying for luxuries when you have the money for them does not make it ok to steal them when you don't. Really, how hard is it? Confucius he say, man who not have money, go without computer game.

Solution = When you don't have the money to finance your addiction, that's a great opportunity to break your addiction.

Wait does it count as pirating if I give it to a couple dozen people who cant get it because it's (the game itself) illegal?

Well, actually, that may count as a brave and principled protest against censorship, except of course that China would never dream of censoring anything.

Don't play dumb I do damn well know they censor it and to a certain extent its understandable. Paradox changed several things to please German censors yet nothing for China?

"Like its predecessor Hearts of Iron, the game is also banned in the People's Republic of China. The main point of contention seems to be that the game portrays the various Chinese warlords as independent entities, while in real life they were nominally part of the Republic of China (represented in-game as Nationalist China). Also, the Tibetan flag used in-game is banned in China. Paradox has stated that it will not reduce the level of historical accuracy in order to appease the PRC censors. However, there have been criticisms that Paradox has appeased German censors by replacing the Swastika flag with the German flag used until 1935, to avoid a ban in Germany. In the Geman version of the game also pictures of leading Nazi leaders, like Hitler, Göring and Himmler had been removed and names altered. For what reason is unknown, because none of this are illegal. They have also removed all references to the Holocaust, concentration camps, ethnic cleansing (besides the Rape of Nanking), and terror bombing."

But ya I gave it to some 6 people so far and more add on [Smile] soon my cult shall rull the world!

Personally, I can quite agree with complying with the law in a democratic country, but ignoring that of a dictatorship which feels quite free to ignore the copyright laws of yours.

That aside, it only counts as a brave and principled protest if the people you are protesting against know about it. Going to hand yourself in to the Chinese authorities, are you?

ummm no. And I don't think bravery and stupidity are one in the same, giving them the games so they can enjoy it when otherwise they couldn't is a aim in of itself (aside form getting MPlayer partners...) to outright yell to the authorities "hey I'm here!" is stupid since getting arrested doesn't help them.

The arguments for and agianst piracy aside, I still think it's unacceptable to post links to pirated games here.
