Who can help me find the lyrics to "Edgar Allan Poe" from "Snoopy! The Musical"? I remember it being a cute and funny song, but I can't seem to be able to recall the words. I wanted to share it with my kid, since he is writing a report on Edgar Allan Poe.

As a reward, whoever can help me get the lyrics will get a [Kiss]

Unfortunately, all the sites I can find with lyrics for that show have only a couple songs, and none of them have Edgar Allen Poe. Amazon does have the soundtrack on CD, no idea if it would have liner notes and lyrics inside, but might be worth it, especially since you liked the show? Course you might not get it in time for Son of Shvester...

That's just what I found. I was hoping a better googler than I would have better results.

I can't find an MP3 of it, either. That would be even better.

Anyone?

I've found MIDI files which mean nothing. And several places you can buy the songbook, which I don't know if it contains lyrics.

Isn't there a place online where scripts are available? I can't read a Broadway script anywhere?

Broadway shows are notorious for being super secretive about scripts, and yes, even song lyrics. When I did "Man of La Mancha" in high school, we didn't get scripts. We got "sides." That is, we got a booklet that had only the lines our character actually said, plus the last few words that the previous character had said. This was to make it a huge effort to photocopy the script. It also made it extra work to memorize lines, because you couldn't recognize your own lines in context.

Even if the play you're doing comes in a full text script, very often you have to return all the scripts with no markings, and you have to swear on your first born that no one has made a copy of it.

It would not surprise me at all to find that Tams-Witmark and other such companies have their internet dogs sniffing for copyright infringments all over the place, which is probably why you can't find what you're looking for.

I've never heard of either of those Musicals before.

But you have. Do you know ANY lyrics from any of the songs? Sometimes a line will do. I've always had excellent results typing in what I know of a song in Google, and usually the appropriate site comes up.

theamazeeaz, that is just what I did, once I found the sites linked above which discussed the lyrics (thus lending some keywords for searches). Nothing of substance resulted.

I would be very surprised indeed if Tante hadn't already done this with the sections of lyrics she knew. This seems to be most likely a matter of Broadway script privacy/secrecy (see Glenn's post above yours).
