I've got my first beard. It's pretty good (especially considering most of the other attempts from people in my grade). I'm 17.

I'm 17, so right now it sucks because I have no hope of growing any sort of beard, and yet I can't not shave because it grows alot. And I hate shaving.

I was growing a full beard since I was 18, except for where the moustache meets the rest of the beard (although if I grew the mustache long enough, it covered the bald spots.) I've worn a beard every now and then, if I don't shave for 2 days it is really noticable.

I'm not sure exactly when I was able to really grow a full beard. I kinda stopped shaving regularly when I was 17. But I'm not sure I would call what grew a beard. It was kinda thin. I'm not capable of a full beard (except where moustache meets beard, that's still a little thin) and I'm 20. I've been capable of this since at least 18 or 19. So 'round 17 - 18 I would say.

Well- I've seen women that can grow facial hair. At least mustaches as hairy as mine (I'm 18 and my mother has an absolute no-facial hair rule in place in this house. She's dead serious about it too)

When I started junior high school, there was a fellow with a full beard in our orientation. We all thought he was a teacher, but no, he was a 12 year old like the rest of us. He was half mexican and half filipino.
Looking back, it's still just as scary to think about it.

I got a grey streak in my hair at sixteen. I'd hate to think what my beard would look like if I could grow one.

I'm 16, but I hate facial hair so I shave whenever stubble grows. Which isn't often, I shave usually twice a week, sometimes three times. But I don't know how it'd look if I left it for a couple of weeks. It grows everywhere pretty evenly and kind of thick, just not very fast.

I can't seem to get a full beard, as in all the way around, but I've had a nice goatee and moustache for the past 2 or 3 years (I'm 18).

I might be able but I never really tried. I just don't think it would look very good on me.
My friend however wants to grow a beard but can only really grow the hair under his chin. Another friend commented on the strange "facial topiary", saying it was more of a neck beard than a normal beard.

Yeah, I'm greying too. Half my chest and armpit hair is growing in grey, which is just strange . . .

My beard started growing in when I was 14 and was full blown by 16... But due to the strange looks from my classmates, teachers, strangers (seeing as I'm female and all) my parents sprung for the electrolysis...

Shaving costs so much freaking money. 4 Mach 3 blades are like 8 bucks! I bought an electric, but they don't work as well, and you eventually have to replace the blades for another 20 bucks after a year.
Elijah Wood had surgery and got implants so he could grow a beard.
But, if you really want to grow one in--there is a way to speed up beard growth (and even it out).
Shave every day (twice a day if you want) for a week, whether you've got stubble or not. Go against the hair growth and get really smooth every day. Your facial hair will begin to grow faster and more evenly if it's normally patchy.
I was told this in high school by an actor who was growing a beard. I did it, and sure enough, after the week, the hair grew twice as fast and much more evenly.

I think I was patchy in my early teen years, but by 17-18 I could grow a full beard. I never did though, as my school district prohibited guys from having facial hair. Now in college, I keep a goatee, as most people like it and it's better looking that a full beard.

I have a soul patch, and have had one since I was 18. Never had a full beard. Probably never will. I can go about 5 days without shaving. Technically, I suppose I should say "I go 5 days without shaving." I should shave at least once every two days, but I'm lazy.

I've been finding multiple grey hairs since I was 15. Oddly enough, these do seem to be related to stress. The more stressed I get, the more grey I get, or at least the more people mention it.

I can only got a day or two without shaving. After the first day, it's noticeable if you pay attention. After the second day, it's really noticeable and I had better get off my lazy butt and shave. I shave everyday though just so I look like I'm at least making an attempt at keeping myself groomed.

I've got a beard that significantly varies in color from my normal hair. The hair on the top of my head is a dark brown, almost black. However, my beard is a more mid-range brown with a red tint. It's actually a fairly striking difference. Also, I have a patch of hair right under my lip that's almost blonde. It's quite unusual, but I don't think it looks that bad. Most of my male friends think that the beard is awesome, whereas the female friends are split between "Cool beard!" and "EWWW!!! SHAVE IT OFF!!!!".

I started with a mustache and I almost never shaved it off. One time when I did shave people were looking at me and wondered what the heck changed. Never again.
I've grown full beards twice, but I've become less fond of them. If you don't take care of it, it certainly won't look very pretty especially on a young person. I then went mustache -> mustache and goatee -> mustache & chinstrap. I think I'm sticking with this. I dream of finding a girlfriend who will just loooove the beard. I can grow a goatee/mustache, but my cheeks are all patchy when I let them go. Shame, I've always wanted to have sideburns. I currently have a goatee but no mustache. I wasn't able to grow a good looking one till about 20.
