MPAA wants to make home theaters illegal

Frome the article:

The MPAA defines a home theater as any home with a television larger than 29" with stereo sound and at least two comfortable chairs, couch, or futon. Anyone with a home theater would need to pay a $50 registration fee with the MPAA or face fines up to $500,000 per movie shown.

Here's the article that was posted on slashdot and digg. The site is down right now, but the mirror should work. That said, I'm pretty sure this is satire rather than a real article.

Hmmm...satire only works when it's funny. As it is, this could almost be true.

BBSpot? Definite satire...

Unless you believe their headlines on the left: "Microsoft Purchases Evil from Satan" and "Bush Proposes Faith-Based Firewalls for Government Computers".

I think it's sad when satire could be confused for reality. When I first read the headline on fark, I thought it was true for a moment until I saw where it came from.

It has to be satire.

We all know that "Microsoft Purchases Evil from Satan" is backwords. Satan has a lease arrangement to download for Microsoft's help line.

What do you expect? Even Satan doesn't have enough lawyers to battle Microsoft.
