Who thinks Halo franchise would make a better tv series including the evnts from Halo: Fall of Reach to Halo III would be better spaced as a 3 season show or maybe perhaps a mini-series?

I don't. The storyline's just barely interesting enough to make a good videogame, and a T.V. series would push it a little far.

Then again, it's been done before...

I could kind of see where a movie would be good, but a tv series just seems like it would be pushing things too far.

A movie would be great, so long as they leave everything from the novels and other ancillary fiction out. Actually, leave Halo 2 out as well. The first game had a great story, but everything since then has been mediocre. The games have a unique art style that would lend itself extremely well to modern special effects, but would probably require a budget greater than you'd get for a television series.

The plot and pacing of halo 2 was kind of poorly done, but I don't think that the main elements of the story itself were all that bad.

They should make a Halo movie, that's incredibly well done, but bears little resemblance to the actual in-game story.

I think Halo's story gets overhyped because its the FIRST FPS (First Person Shooter) to have something that APPROACHES an interesting story, whereas plot lines for games in the past have just been mind numbingly stupid.

But then again most people initially didn't play FPS for the story, Halo just demonstrated that you could have a good plot AND good game play. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that.

It was the first successful console FPS to have something approaching an interesting story. Both of those qualifiers are necessary, since it wasn't even Bungie's first FPS with an interesting story (Pathways into Darkness, Marathon trilogy).

True story. Half Life was a very successful shooter, and people lauded its story because it was actually USED within the game as an important factor. When I think back on it, the story really was not THAT good, but half life insisted on making the story important to the game and that was what surprised people.

Doom1? Earth develops teleportation technology which inadvertently opens up a portal to hell. They transport marines to deal with it, all but one of them dies or is possessed. You are that marine, go kill all the minions of hell.

Blech!
