I'm going to be getting contacts if I can manage it in the next few weeks. I'm trying to come up with an "average contact lense exam price" that I can use to measure against competing eye companies.

Where can I get such info? Hatrackers and bad spellers, untie!

My recent contacts exam cost me $145, including retinal imaging. That was at Lenscrafters with no insurance or discounts.

I had to pull out the papers I just filed for insurance for my daughter's exam.

With our regular optometrist(Opthomologist)? Her bill was:
Eye Exam Comprehensive - $85 (covered by insurance)
Contact Lens Fitting - $44

(and then the cost of the contacts themselves was separate, and that price depends on what type of contacts you choose for you)

But since we are "exisiting customers" - you might be paying more as a new patient

Yeah, it's looking like the $140 mark total...but the lady said that was without fitting so...maybe not the best deal.

I didn't pay anything for a fitting, or else it was hidden in the other costs. Just throwin that out there.

If I remember right, Americas Best regularly advertises exam plus contacts for $99. Of course, that's probably assuming that you don't need torics or some weird scrip that they aren't going to have on hand, and I'm sure it won't include retinal imaging, even if they had the equipment on site to do so.

Yeah. My vision isn't too bad. I don't need to wear my glasses except when I'm driving. I think I have astigmatism in my right eye though, so that may be problem...? Not sure...
