and on top of that i am slowly losing the little sanity i still have left.
god do i hate afghainistain.

on top of that the weather is getting colder and weter, and they still send us.

Rommel

God bless you for what you are doing,

possibly the way to do your journal is to just write a sentance that reminds you about what you want to remember. At least it will get something down.

As to time for actual writing, people in the normal world have that problem too. I have no idea how much time you have on your own each day. With any writing, you may have to give up time to do something else (like sleep) in order to write.

I wish you will have a Marry Christmas my good friend.

Made me laugh...but it looks like it hurt. Are you up for public ridicule or si your friend gonna pay the price when you get back on some R&R?

The important part right now is to do what you can to stay sane. When you can write, do. Or jot down notes to write later. But you don't need to make writing something that adds to the pressure you're already under. If you can't do it now, writing will be there for you later.

Take care of yourself the best you can, and hang in there. Just get home safe.

Well, Rommel, all I can say is, as a horse person, I can see the pony's side of it and I think you got off easy!! LOL! Stay safe and don't worry about the writing - that will block you. Write what you can when you can, and give yourself permission to take days off to do nothing but read or goof off or whatever you can do to relax. Merry Christmas, and God bless you for what you're doing over there!

well i had a $#!@@* christmass.
i was woken up at 0200z after 3 hours sleep to go on guard. got releaved late then sent back on guard at 1000z. i hate this contry.

i dont know how to ride well. but i am the only one who can stay on the pony more than 30sec if i am not drunk. it is because i know no fear, and yes it hurt like h.... but i got back on. then was told by the owner and my friend that he can not afford taking me to the ER so i went and got more drunk.
i dont see how he would have to pay i have free medical from the army.

MARRY CHRISTMAS, AND I HOPE NONE OF YOU HAVE A BETTER ONE THAN I.
