Surely it has been asked before, but maybe that's longer ago than when I've been here. Anyone know why he doesn't come here? Did he come here in the old days but not now? I imagine if he did, though, this forum would melt into one big long ask OSC writing session, which would kill the communication and community we've made, yeah?
Well, that seems like a good enough answer to me, but I'm just wondering, for any of the older members, if he used to stop by this forum.

I've been here for three years and have never seen him. Theoretically, he could stop by from time to time under an alias, but I doubt it very much. I think he's got a lot to do and not much time for a forum like this. He does answer writing questions sometimes in "Uncle Orson's Writing Class." (You can e-mail him a question and see if he bites.)

He may come by and lurk, but posts from OSC (as with hurricanes in Hartford, Hereford, and Hampshire) hardly ever happen.
I suspect he doesn't come around because he hears from time to time about what a great group we have here, and he doesn't feel the need to check up on us.
So keep up the good work, folks. And think of it this way, we don't really WANT to bother him, right?

He doesn't come here often, but he has posted. To tell you how rare his visits are, last year at bootcamp, he didn't know the Hatrack utility belt existed until MaryRobinette told him.

Unless he's lurking and / or posting under another name. If he were here in his proper persona, it would be intimidating...well, at least for a while...

Does the belt have a batarang? I'd love a batarang...maybe with a stylized WW for 'Writers' Workshop.'
Hmmm...on second thought, having a batarang would necessitate throwing it at things. People. Animals. Annoying critiquers (no, I don't group them under 'people').
Subsequently, I should never be given one.
I'll take the bat-gas instead.

Yes, now if only we could get our hands on a Hatarang, then we could yell, "To the Hatmobile maryROBINette."
