For those of you that missed the "favorite apocalypse" thread, this is for your notification. It's been a while since we've had a short-story-writing-challenge at here at Hatrack. mikemunsil mentioned it in the Rewrite Challenge Forum just about a week ago. Thanks to KayTi mentioning my comment made a good trigger, KDW has asked me to post it as a challenge in the newly re-named Writing Challenges forum. I officially have. Bored Crow mentioned that nobody really looks in the lower-listed forums, and asked for this post.
