I saw that nothing recent was posted about this, so I figured that I would write about it here. During the month of November, it is national novel writing month. Once again the website http://www.nanowrimo.org/ is doing there 50k words in a month. I was wondering if anyone else has signed up to take on the challenge.

I am also under the same username if anyone wants to add me also. I did not learn about it until the end of the month last year, so I hope to make up grounds this year.

I'm there, though I really haven't decided if I'm doing it or not. I want to revise my last year's nano project and get it out on the market, but I think I need to write another because the rush was just all kinds of awesome, and it was fun to be in a big group of other people all killing ourselves with the same deadline.

I read the topic name and I thought that this was about the state of nanotechnology in the year 2008. I thought someone might be ranting about misrepresentation of the capabilities of nanotech in SF stories. *cough*Prey*cough* Silly me. Posts: 299 | Registered: Oct 2008

I figured I need to practice bravery. More importantly, I need more control over my internal editor. I signed up as aspirit.

The NaNoWriMo website loads slowly for me every time I visit. I prefer writing in Hatrack Groups instead of going to the NaNoWriMo forums.

I agree, I never got in on the forums there. Maybe we could start a Nanowrimo writing group here in the writing group forum.

Hey, ya'll. I'm in, I think. I guess I just need to write without fear and worry about the copyright restrictions for a story about 12 step recovery later, eh? I actually kind of tried to write about this subject 2 years ago, but it really sucked. My initial draft will just be for personal history purposes, though, so no worries about big brother. I mean, there are all kinds of stories about recovered addicts out there, but they have to talk around the actual 12 steps for copyright reasons.

I hadn't realized the 12 steps were copyrighted. Do you know who holds the copyright? Is it possible to get permission?

NaNo is nuts and a blast all at once. I'm still on the fence but should know what the schedule for November will look like after Wednesday 10-29.

I've had a few days off writing, in readiness for NaNo, got the first sentance of my story all tucked away in my head and some kind of direction the story will go, so I'm all ready to start typing now. Can't wait for the 1st.
I'm interested in joining a Hatrack/NaNo group, sounds like fun!
I'm Virtuosa over at NaNo. Will add in a link when I have more time.
