I really want to participate in NaNoWrMo this year, but I have a novel that I've already written that I really need to get done. So I decided to do a massive editing job in November instead of writing a completely new story.

I'm doing it no matter what, but I wanted to see if anyone here wanted to join me, so that we could support and be accountable to each other.

You don't have to be editing. The idea is that there is a current project in any stage that you want to make a big push to finish next month. We all make our own goals and report on them to each other once a week, and hopefully that will keep us motivated to reach our goals.

It would kind of be a one month souped-up version of novel support group (although it doesn't have to be a novel). Anyone in?

EdMo sounds catchy. I like it more than NaNoWriMo, which feels too cute to me. I don't have an editing project on the range at this moment, though, I have a novel development phase in progress and a novelette entering first draft phase. However, I'm going those alone. My writing process isn't ammenable to collaborative encouragements.

NaNo does have a revise month. I think it's two or three months afterwards.

But this could be interesting. I will have to think on it.

I am totally in! I've been feeling really sorry for myself because I just can't justify writing another manuscript when I've got so many waiting to be reworked. This is exactly what I need. My next project is in such bad shape it will almost be like doing Nanowrimo anyway, except it won't be the first time I'm writing it.

I will join in by necessity. In a few weeks, I'll have three novels in rewrite and that's two too many. I want to publish at least two of these by year's end, so you can count me in.

There seems to be some interest. So I've started a thread in Groups link here.

If anyone wants to join in at any time, please do. Those who are doing an official NaNoWrMo can post progress here as well. It is just a way to encourage each other and be accountable. Hopefully it will help us reach our respective goals this month.

If the group remains small, we may just correspond by e-mails, but I thought I'd post it here to give everyone who wants to a chance to join.

I joined NaNo precisely to get away from editting my other novel.
