only go to restaurants that are within easy driving distance of Clark and Kathy Kidd's house in Sterling, Virginia, or of the Appalachian House behind the Library of Congress in DC. Also, I have a strong distaste for "manly" steakhouses, especially when frequented by people having power meals. Therefore I haven't been to Morton's or any of the other congressional hangouts. Here, in no particular order, are my favorite restaurants in the DC area:
