Uncle Orson's Restaurant Guide
Old Angler's Inn
t its best when the weather allows you to eat out on the patio, surrounded
by lush foliage, this just-north-of-the-Potomac restaurant is one of the best
the DC area has to offer. The chef is creative yet deft — what's new there
never disappoints — and the menu changes according to the availability of
perfect ingredients. The service and the presentation of the food are
elegant yet unpretentious, and even the piped-in music, which might seem
unnecessary for an outdoor restaurant in such a lovely setting, is
delightfully well-chosen. You simply can't go wrong. They're open during
the winter, too, but in much more confined quarters. When I hosted a wedding
breakfast, this is the restaurant that I chose; there was no real
competition.

10801 MacArthur Blvd., Potomac MD. From the beltway, take the first exit on
the Maryland side of the Potomac and follow the Clara Barton Parkway away
from the district. Get off the Parkway onto MacArthur Blvd. and continue in
the same direction you were already going for another mile. The parking is
rustic; walk carefully lest you turn an ankle in the dark.
