And just when I was going to suggest a Hatrack Poland get together! I was going to fly everybody over too. Oh well, if you say so, I guess I'll just forget about it.
Would have been fun though.

((Kama)) I'm sorry there have been a regular proliferation of them recently. I'm in part responsible for a couple of them and I do feel bad for people far away who can't come.
Oh, sure. You just want us to stop having these get-togethers because it makes you feel jealous. How pathetic. You're the same kind of person who keeps popping up to whine about those popularity threads.

I'm with Kama, cut it out... Or else have one in my neck of the woods. Sorry, Kama. Alliance of convenience and all that.

Kama, if it's any consolation, probably 25% of us will retire to Poland in order to live off the pitiful Social Security payments we're likely to be getting by then...

I feel that way too, Kama. *sigh* But we still have the chance to meet those wonderful persons on the Internet. That's something after all.

What I wish I had was some local friends. I've been living near Boston for 2 years and I still don't have one local friend

Is it me or are you actually mis-spelling the "offensive hand guesture"?-\/-- (this is my new "peace hand guesture") -|--| or "Hang loose" Oh, wait, is that offensive also? I never knew for sure.

Kama, I will be working in Germany again this coming summer and my husband and I are considering bicycle touring options. How is the bicycling in Poland?

Not really my cup of tea, but I suppose it's not bad. Although cycling inside bigger towns might be a bit of a nuissance. I'd recommend the mountains (not Tatra, though - too high), or the Mazury region (wonderful lakes).

I tend to share sentiments with Kama. Not only have I not seen a single NY get-together, but I also have parents who would forbid me from going near a group of people I met on the internet. It's irritating to see people get together so frequently and to be left out. Even when OSC is touring around here he makes sure to come on a weekday during school.
