Jello? No.. I won't allow that to become this threads topic.. how about Halo?- My favorite thing to do in that game is to come up behind them and give them a nice bump on the head with the handle of my shotgun..
Do you know how high people raised there post count from the Last Post thread? Yeah, a whole lot, that's what. Years with my other screen names and I only have a little under 100 posts combined. Threads like these are a jack pot for low posters like me.

Which is exactly why I think postcounts are fairly useless in determining someones worth to a forum. I would take one one intelligent post to 100 posts of forum pollution like this thread. Does it really deserve to be on the front page?
At least the hug thread has a purpose and makes a lot of people happy. Threads like the last post thread and this one deserve to be on some other forum, you know, like the thousands of lame ones out there.

Interesting point, Xavier. And to some degree I agree.
However, one of the things I love about Hatrack is that it makes room -- with grace and courtesy -- for threads of all kinds (except those that violate the user agreement, natch).
As for "deserve" . . . I don't claim to judge deserving-ness of threads. I leave that to our hosts and/or the consensus of Hatrack.
There are forty threads on the front page -- surely a few can be pure nonsensical fluff without any problem? After all, no one's making anyone click on a thread they dislike -- there tend to be a number at any given time that I am studiously ignoring.

I agree that a postcount is an impractical way to measure somebody's worth to the forum, but silly threads like these are just as much a part of Hatrack as the controversial debates and emotional attachment of its members. It may just be me, but if Hatrack was all cake and no frosting, I'd get a heart-attack.
(It may not be annoying quite yet.. but give it a few months.. seeing this pointless thread all the time is going to make people send bombs to my house)

of course not, but if it turns out I'm wrong, then you might turn your talent to the last post thread.
