Bump....sax, do you have Orkut invitations? Does anyone on Hatrack have Orkut invites? I'm trying to connect to this and figured the 'rack might be a good place to look.

I brought up a thread about Orkut the other day. I'm trying to find out more about it- and possibly get invites too.... Alas- no one saw that thread but me.

Myspace. Well, to be fair, I joined before the millions of people. Had to eventually delete and remake my account though (too many people). And come on, where else can you laugh at Jeffree Star (who, creepily, I've met).

I'm not allowed to say who, but a major email provider is planning to soon introduce a new email groups system that will make those sites worthless. It's gonna be great.

cheiros: nope. It doesn't even really matter who it is. Realize that there have been far better alternatives to any given one of them, from a technical/organizational standpoint. The values from these sites are in the social networks they foster, and often in some very peculiar specifics of their features.
Perhaps that major email provider's"offering will also become popular, but I suspect the membership on myspace and facebook will continue to be far and away the highest.
