I just got back from a 10-hour layover in the Chicago airport (ugh, weather). To ease my boredom, I happened into the bookshop and was delighted to find a paperback copy of SP. Upon reaching page 216, however, I discovered that the next 37 pages were a repeat of the previous 37, with the regular flow returning at page 255.
I couldn't stomach skipping ahead on my favorite author, so I exchanged it -- verifying that every other copy was indeed unsullied. Did I give away a useless bit of kindling or a genuine collector's item?

I had the same thing happen with my copy of First Meetings, but didn't notice it until after returning home from Endercon. I got lucky, though, in that when I reported it to the publisher, they just sent me a second copy.
Personally, I think having the whole story is worth more than a book with printing mistakes.

CalvinMaker is THE collector of OSC books - his collection is truly astonishing. That sounds cool enough that I bet he'd have wanted it.

That's sort of like the Ender's Shadow I had... I ordered it off Powells.com and after a very fast delivery, I got about 70 pages into it and all of a sudden it jumped to page 96. They let me keep it, but I don't think I have it anymore...
