I'm fine with him taking a nice little break, I suppose. (At least, I'd think it were a break, he did say he needs to go in writing sprawls for his books.)
Besides, isn't it far more fun to hear him speaking to us in a much more personalized way? ^_^
I am writing my brains out. For instance, today, after getting up at noon (after staying up till three ON HATRACK) (and, to be fair, also playing Millipede), I worked on my contract with Dabel Brothers Productions to have them adapt my novels Wyrms and Red Prophet into series of comics.
Then I answered a bunch of other emails and wrote a bio (of me) to include with a package we're sending to the manager of a certain star to get her to consider taking the leading role in a movie we're working on getting funded (no, you don't know what movie it is and I'm not telling because I don't want the star to think we're out blabbing on the web about her in particular).
Then I went to a rehearsal of Brigadoon. When I got home I ate dinner (tuna sandwiches and guarana and Penafiel sangria-flavored soda) and then watched Tru Calling with Kristine and then played Millipede and got an amazing new high score (over 150,000) and also got a new second-highest score on Mr. Do!
Then I came up here to work on the script for the Book of Mormon pageant thing we're doing Saturday (I might as well get it set now, though it IS still two days away) and then got sidetracked ON HATRACK.
So it's not like I'm not working.
Besides, I already posted my opening to Christmas at Battle School (or: Santa Claus Is Going to War) (or: Santa Blasts the Buggers). What more do you want?

I don't celebrate christmas, but I'd like a batmobile. Preferably the new one. It's only 1.4 mill so it's not too much to ask for. Anything over two would be crazy.

I'm guessing you might not drink alcoholic beverages, but if you come to Orlando and make an exception, I will make you some sangría that will cure you of any desire to drink phony sangría, particularly phony sangría that is made in industrial quantities in advance of being drunk.

My thoughts on Card's participation in his own forums fluctuate from appreciation for his staying connected to his fan base, to utter fear for his sanity. I do wonder what his staff and agent thinks about his participation, whether or not they condone this activity.
The old saying "Familiarity may breed contempt" comes to mind. I think we may be witness to that in some of the debates in questioning Card's views on controversial subjects. Mr Card is a man with his own ideologies and idiosyncrasies, that reality has been made all too real.
I have been a fan of Mr. Card's work since I was in middle school, and have continued to be a fan all the way through adulthood. It was with much curiosity that I began to learn more about Orson when finding this website.
I fear that my OWN ideologies and idiosyncrasies may bias me against my "childhood hero". I personally hope, for my enjoyment of OSC's work, that I am mature enough to seperate Card the author and Card the man.

I was too enthralled by wyrms to put it down.I even had an eye appointment, and, sitting in the waiting room with my eyes extremely dialated, I couldn't put it down the first time I read it.
I noticed that IF you fall out of a community (such as this one) for a while (ermm... has it really been over 6 months?) you lose touch. Senior OSC is insane. Eh hem, I mean insane-LY active... yes...
I believe that Senior OSC can rightfully take time off. No offense, but even a month off will not hurt your wallet that much, neh? But I bet he- you- are not actually totally abolishing the writting for a while, still putting in an hour every once in a while, correct?
As to oppinions, who needs them?
(See, what makes that funny is that that was an oppinion, heh.)
My 7th grade science fair project compared heartrate and blood pressure after playing millipede, after stationary bicycling, after jogging in place on a mini trampoline, and after resting for 20 minutes.
millipede playing produced the highest heartrate, then stationary jogging, then stationary biking, and resting last.
Bloodpressure didn't quite remain static, but variations was very low, and followed the same pattern as heart rate (I think)

and they're not from marvel, so I can buy them without my comics retailer scowling at me with all the hatred burning in his soul for everything in the evil Marvel empire.
