I can provide it to those who wish to try it out. But only if you agree to get your own copy from a store within a reaosnable amount of time.

There's a downloadable demo at the Paradox site, with only one scenario - I don't recall if it's the Allied landing in Italy or the Battle of the Bulge, but it's supposed to give insight into the basic combat mechanics.

And SidMeier, while Hatrackers are generally trustworthy, please don't offer to pirate Pdox games even for a limited time. They deserve better.

I suspect the distinction is rather minor. The question is, will Paradox get paid? If not, it's piracy.

If they got paid once, and two people are using it, they didn't get paid enough. Send them more money! How else are we going to get the 1.04 patch for Vicky?

Vicky, comrade. Not HoI2. HoI2 is for noobs and 13-year-olds. Real men play Vicky. The girls don't go with the weaklings who play HoI2.

WHAT!? NOOBS! ARE YOU INSANE! It took 4 games for me to be able to play the game right! Its insanly complicated for a first timer, to be able to get all the subtleties right. Like support attack, reserves, figuring out what would be the best stuff to research etc. And with the supped up AI its insanly hard as Russia to beat Germany, impossible to beat Japan as nationalist china, and a tad harder to play as germany.

Well? A learning curve of a mere four games is supposed to demonstrate what, exactly? Compared to the glory that is Vicky, HoI2 is a kiddie game. With simplified rules so the 'special' kids can play.

*twitch*

It is the BEST WWII GRAND STRATEGY GAME EVER MADE!!

You can't get that much deph in any other war game I have so far seen, don't dis it! I'm certain vicky is good too but so far Hoi2 is the best in my eyes. Everything I ever wanted in a war game and here it is in one little CD. And just so you know if you've played even one game by paradox you know that a game in this takes nigh on obession to finish becuase a game could drag on for a week. Espicially if you play with your friends.

Now if you mean special as in super geniouses then sure, but special as in retarded then where the hell did you come from!? This game maybe "simplyfied" in comparrison to say Hoi1 but but only so that players can concenterate more on the strategy aspect of the game of the game, constantly fidling around with the convoys doesn't add to the experiance, and a simplyfied production screen gives you a better idea of what you want produced and when it will be produced.

I do not deny that it is the best WWII strategy game ever; it is, after all, a Paradox game, so it's obviously going to be the best in its particular genre. It's still a kiddie game compared to Vicky, or even EUII. Even Johan can only do so much with a genre that is mainly attractive to lamer 14-year-olds.

I'm 17. And if this game had anything else in it I would have to say it wouldn't be as good as it is now. I do see some room for improvement, like in oeace treaties your forced to practically wirte down a list of all the territories you want, preferale I think having a "map" and clicking on the wanted territories is better. But ya, I'll still say this is the best game I've ever played until I play those other games, then I'll consider these games and make a new judgement but for now Hoi2 is my pride and joy.

14, 17... *Waves hand airily*

Of course, if you haven't played Vicky, you're naturally going to think HoI2 is the bee's knees. Kind of like porn before you discover real women.

I think you might possibly find that comrade OSC has other priorities for his Sundays. But I must say I applaud your recruiting efforts.

Ya if only we had better luck with Vikky, I could imagine MTT being 100 times more interesting had we have 8 players.
