A few days ago, a member started a thread having to do with 'trolls' (the subject doesn't matter). He later decided that the subject wasn't worth pursuing and deleted his original post. All the replies vanished with it.

My question is this: If you post a reply and then decide to delete it, do all the follow on replies disappear?

I did check FAQ, but didn't see this.

Deleting the original post erases the thread. Deleting any post afterward affects only the specific post you delete. All other posts remain the same.

If I went to a really old thread, and deleted one of my posts in it, would it "bump" the thread?

No. But you can post, then immediately delete the post.

But that's not encouraged. [Wink]

I feel so illiterate... lol.

To "bump" a thread means to post just to move it to the top.
