I know there were other threads about this but like..wtf man? Some people kinda contradict other things i've heard plus someone asked a question and said it was already answered somewhere but like...it wasn't. [Confused]

So...lemme try and summarize all the questions other people have asked and that I would like to know so it will all be organized in one section...even though some HAVE been answered.

1. When does White Prophet take place?

2. Will White Prophet be *published* before or after (or the same time as) Master Alvin will be *published*?

3. Will all three short stories(well it will be 3 once White Prophet is published) be published in one volume?

4. Has Orson Scott Card started writing White Prophet yet? When can we expect it?

If anyone knows the answer to even one of these questions please post the answer. Grazie in anticipo!

Yeah, I was having some difficulty there. But some questions were answered.

1. Between 'The Yazoo Queen' and 'The Crystal City.'
2. ???
3. I've heard that but dunno how long after 'White Prophet' is published. Maybe that's where it will *first* be published.
4. ???

BTW, for anyone who hasn't gone to dictionary.com, grazie in anticipo is Italian for 'thanks in advance.' :-)

1. After Heartfire, before Yazoo Queen -- not sure whether it's before or after Grinning Man (though before seems likely, as Alvin seemed to wish to go there right at the end of Heartfire).

2. Unknown -- my guess is he would publish it before, because Master Alvin is so final. Of course, an awful lot of Enderverse stories have been written after Children of the Mind, so you never know.

3. OSC suggested this would be the case, but I doubt we'll know for sure until after it's written.

4. Really doubt it, and no idea. He has an awful lot of irons in the fire right now.

Yazoo Queen happens immediately before Crystal City, so White Prophet kinda has to happen earlier.

A perfect Alvin Maker 'first meetings'-type anthology would include the original Prentice Alvin and the No-Good Plow poem, as well as the trilogy of Grinning Man, White Prophet, and Yazoo Queen.

I'd buy it.

OK, I haven't read anything except the novels. This explains why I didn't know what was going on in Crystal City.

I mean, I could follow the story being presented in CC, but there were so many references to things I didn't know that it was easy to feel lost.

Where are these stories available now?

Legends anthologies I and II. There wasn't really much reference to Grinning Man -- far more to Yazoo Queen.

I'm reading the Maker books right now, given I'm only on red prophet. But I own all 6 books (Seventh Son, Red Prophet, Prentice Alvin, Alvin Journyman, Heartfire, and The Crystal City). At least I thought that was all the books [Confused] . Can someone please explain to me what all the books your talking about are (Yazoo Queen, White Prophet, Master Alvin, Grinning Man etc.)?

Yazoo Queen and Grinning Man are short stories which occur chronologically between Heartfire and Crystal City. White Prophet will be a short story occurring between Heartfire and Crystal City once it's written. Master Alvin will be the last book in the series once it's written. The short stories aren't necessary to follow the overall story line, but they are referred to in Crystal City.
