I always compare fantasy novels to Dragonlance and I gotta say Elantris is up to par.

I was surprised by Sanderson's writing and would put the book in my top 5 of all time.

I loved Elantris as well. I thought it was a fine piece of writing and thank OSC for introducing to me to Sanderson and his writing.

Conversely, I didn't like it very much, and I was really hoping to like it, as I knew the author way way back when we took seminary from his father. Oh well, I guess OSC's taste and mine isn't exactly the same.
