I've read the ender series (both Speaker and shadow) over and over for the past....7 years I think, since i was 10. What i've always wondered is, for all this Philotics and aiła stuff actually researched, or is it in his head. I mean some of this stuff is just amazing, while some other things are.....I won't go there.(too much hate mail). But anyway, anyone know?

Oh and by the way, you all better save my email address, becuase your looking at the next best sci-fi writer............once i can get past this stupid writers block that is ^_^'

I don't know exactly how, or even if, OSC was influenced by it, but those ideas are very reminiscent of something I've ready by Cleon Skousen, a Mormon scholar.

Come on now; Mormon writer, Mormon colorful character, Mormon controversial local politician, Mormon lots of things. But, "Mormon "Scholar", hardly.

Well there's well supported opinion. [Roll Eyes] Though, I don't actually know that much about Skousen. I just know a friend who thought people who quoted Skousen as an authoritative source were wacko. I think someone tried to give me a copy of a tape by him, back when people used to listen to tapes.

OSC made it up. There isn't any research to do on undiscovered elementary particles and hypothetical otherworlds [Smile]

It's like when someone asked Michael Crichton whether he had visited genetics labs to do research for Jurassic Park. His answer: "Why would I? They don't know how to make dinosaurs."

Thats what I thought. But hell, the guy's a genius. What really Irks me though is the fact that, my mother who is clinically insane (it's a healthy insane thought) won't stop blabbing about how it makes sense.

It does make sense, but then again, so did the worthing saga, the homcoming series, and mortal gods. They don't all fit together, but they make sense. I think Card is just so good at making up new worlds (or versions of current ones) that make so much sense, and function so well, that they seem like they could be real. Empire makes so much sense that I'm starting to wish my insurrance didn't have a "not valid in case of war or insurrection" clause.

So basically he is just that good I think.
